Short entry tonight, as low on battery.
Last night a fierce storm kicked up, and heavy rains pounded us for hours. After securing our tents, and making sure things were up off the floor, we did alright. Water never covered our tent floors, but it came close, and the areas around were all flooded and very muddy.
So things went slowly this morning, but we took a tour of the "suburbs of Leer" with James, a lost boy, and enjoyed just walking through parts of the village. We met with Michael early afternoon to discuss AMA (Assistance Mission for Africa), who is hosting us these four days, and learned about their program. We then met with the leaders of the Presbyterian Church of Sudan from a multiple-county area for three hours--a very fruitful and productive meeting, and it is clear that they would welcome all that we would bring, even the Church of the Brethren. They expressed the desire for training for church leaders, as well of other development, health, and education... plus evangelism and discipleship training.
Good day. The airstrip is drying out, so we hope a flight comes for us tomorrow. We have not heard any communication as to when it may come, however, nor if we have confirmed seats, and so we hope that we might get that word yet tonight--a little concerned, but yet we trust that things will work out. If nothing else, we will pack, and listen for a plane!!
More later... blessings to you all!
