12 July 2007, 12:00 noon -- Juba, Sudan

12:00 noon -- the previous entry was interrupted as we just got called away, as Rev Tibi came by... so we met with him, then got a lift to the SCC office, met with Tiberius (and ate a granola bar for breakfast that we grabbed as we left) and had phone calls with Anne in Nairobi to confirm tomorrow's flight, got dropped at Bishop Nathaniel's compound and met with him, then walked back to the Catholic compound and guest house. Anne also put us in touch with the accountant for SCC in Nairobi, who let us know that our travel costs here are mounting more quickly than anticipated, and so we hope that we can find the financial means to continue our Assessment work this month. While we are staying in more primitive accommodations in order to save us much as possible, travel is simply expensive... yet the contacts that we are making, throughout the ecumenical community and not just in specific places where we have targeted as possible locations for the Church of the Brethren to locate their ministry, seem invaluable. This makes us even more grateful for those who have given to support this ministry already... and we hope that what we are finding here will encourage the support of many others.

More to follow... there is much yet left to this day, and it is time to go again.
